Shaylan Loomis

Former Big Blue wrestler Shaylan Loomis joined the Millikin wrestling staff in July 2021 as a Graduate Assistant Coach while earning his Master’s in Business Administration.
 
While at Millikin, Loomis played a key role in Millikin securing its second consecutive CCIW (College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin) Championship during the 2020-2021 season. He also helped the Millikin wrestling team break the all-time CCIW Tournament Scoring Record.
 
He was a CCIW Finalist at 174, as well as a NWCA Qualifier but had to injury default out of the tournament. Loomis graduated with his bachelors from Millikin in Sport Management in 2021.
 
Prior to transferring to Millikin, Loomis attended Lincoln College from 2016-2018 where he was a two time national qualifier. He was part of a team that finished top four at the NJCAA National Tournament during the 2016-2017 season. He also helped lead the team to two top eight finishes at the NWCA National Duals. Loomis graduated with his Associates in Arts from Lincoln in 2018.
 
Loomis is originally from Rock Island, Illinois. He attended Rock Island High School where he was a multiple varsity sport athlete. In wrestling, he was selected to the Quad City All Metro Team and was First Team All- Conference Western Big 6 as a senior.
 
Loomis qualified for Fargo Nationals in freestyle after winning the Second Chance Tournament. During high school, Loomis helped coach the Rock Island Youth Wrestling Club.
