Bryan Marshall

After serving as Millikin's Interim Athletic Director from October 2024 to April 2025, longtime athletics administrator Bryan Marshall will serve at the Associate Athletic Director for the Big Blue. 

Marshall served as Millikin’s Assistant Athletic Director for Sports Information and Athletic Communication from 2008-2023, when he transitioned into the role of Assistant Athletic Director for Internal Operations in August 2023. Marshall currently still serves as the primary sports information contact for football, men’s and women’s cross country, wrestling, women’s basketball, baseball and men’s and women’s track and field. 
 
In the new role, Marshall will head up the Big Blue operations, budgeting and event management as well as continuing as Millikin's NCAA Compliance Officer.
 
Marshall joined the Millikin staff in 2000 as the Media Relations Director. while serving as Media Relations Director, Marshall had oversight duties over the Sports Information position.
 
While at Millikin, Marshall has played a key role in the Big Blue hosting the NCAA Lower Midwest Wrestling Regional, baseball regionals and NCAA softball regionals and super regional competitions. Marshall was part of the Big Blue staff that organized the NCAA DIII Women’s Golf Championships and the NCAA Men’s and Women’s Track and Field Championships at Millikin.
 
Marshall served on the NCAA Division III Wrestling Committee from 2020-24.
 
Marshall is a 1985 Millikin graduate with a Bachelor of Arts in Communications. Marshall spent 15 years in television broadcasting and two years as an Adjunct Professor before returning to Millikin.
 
Marshall has served his home community for 25 years as a Firefigher/EMT-B for the Argenta-Oreana Fire Department where he as served as both a captain and assistant chief.
 
Marshall has been married to fellow Millikin graduate Shannon Black Marshall since 1996. His son Nathan Marshall graduated from Millikin in 2020. Bryan’s daughter Taylor Black Butler (2013) and son-in-law Garrett Butler (2013) are both Millikin graduates.
