TJ Wirth joins Millikin University's Track and Field coaching staff with over 12 years of experiencing developing successful collegiate and high school throwers. A former thrower himself, Wirth competed for Illinois State University from 2009 to 2012, where he was a two-year Missouri Valley Conference (MVC) placer and a contributor to the Redbirds' throws program.
Since completing his collegiate career, Wirth has dedicated more than a decade coaching the next generation of throwers across the hammer, shot put, discus, and weight throw events. His athletes have consistently achieved conference recognition and personal bests under his motivational guidance. In addition to his coaching career, he is currently pursuing his second master's degree in counseling with dual licensure. He is passionate about fostering a positive and supportive environment for student-athletes, emphasizing the importance of mental health, resilience, and personal growth both on and off the field.
