Millikin Volleyball Splits Pair of Matches

          The Millikin volleyball team earned its third conference win downing North Park University 3-0 on October 10 at the Griswold Center in Decatur, Illinois.
          Millikin won 25-15, 25-16, 25-18 behind a balanced attack.  Sophomore Erin Syversen had 15 kills with a .520 attacking percentage.  Freshman Emily Seegmiller had 13 kills and freshman Cortney Bohn added 10.  Emily Mihalkanin had 41 set assists and led the Big Blue to a .292 team hitting percentage.  Cassidy Kingery had a team high 16 digs followed by Mihalkanin with 14.  Erica Pleau had three blocks.
          North Park was led by Emily Farwell with 9 kills.
          In its second match of the day, Millikin lost to DePauw University 3-1.  Millikin used a late rally to win the first set 25-23, but DePauw won the next three highly competitive sets 25-21, 25-19, 25-22.
          Syversen had 21 kills and 14 digs for Millikin.  Seegmiller added 10 kills.  Kingery had a team high 29 digs with Meredith Artime adding 17.  Milhalkanin had 37 set assists and 10 digs.  Bohn had nine kills and two blocks for the Big Blue.
          DePauw had a balance attack with Lauren Falotico, Elisabeth Wilson and Suzanne Peters each having 12 kills.  Nicole Burge added 11.
          Millikin is now 15-7 overall and 3-0 in CCIW action. DePauw who earlier in the day picked up a 3-0 win over North Park is now 12-5 on the year.
          Millikin will return to conference action on Tuesday, October 13 at 7 p.m. when they hosting North Central College.
