Millikin Volleyball Drops CCIW Match to Cardinals

          The Millikin volleyball team dropped a College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin match to North Central College 3-2 on October 13 at the Griswold Center in Decatur, Illinois.
          The match was a wild one with the momentum taking major swings all night.  Millikin won the opening set 25-23 and the Cardinals took the second set 25-22.  The Big Blue looked to have the match in control after winning the third set 25-18 and jumping out to an 11-1 lead in the fourth set.  North Central stage a strong comeback in the fourth set fighting its way back and tying the match at 22-22 before pulling out the victory 25-23.  North Central took the back-and-forth fifth set 15-13.
          Millikin got 22 kills and four aces from Erin Syversen Cortney Bohn had 11 kills and five blocks.  Alora Goodey had a team high six blocks and seven kills.  Cassidy Kingery led Millikin with 19 kills.  Emily Milhalkanin had 43 set assists. 
          North Central had a balanced attack with four players reaching double figures in kills led by Cara Howell with 13 and Amanda Walker with 12.  Laura Kluk had 43 set assists.
          Millikin is now 15-8, 3-1 while North Central goes to 18-9, 2-1.
          Millikin will head east during Fall Break playing three matches in New Jersey starting on Oct. 16 at Stevens Institute of Technology.
