Millikin Women’s Basketball Edged by Vikings

          The Millikin women's basketball team lost to North Park University 65-63 on February 7 in the Griswold Center in Decatur, Illinois.
          The game was close throughout with Millikin holding a 29-28 advantage at the half.  The contest had eight ties and 17 lead changes.  Millikin would tie the game for the final time at 63-63 on a Yip Ypya three-pointer with 4:33 remaining in the game.
The Vikings took the lead on a jumper by Nikki Przybyslawski with 4:10 left in the game.  Neither team could score in the game's final four minutes.   
North Park shot 48 percent from the field while Millikin shot 44 percent.  Millikin won the battle on the board with 38 rebounds compared to only 28 for the Vikings.  Millikin was once again hurt by turnovers with 19 compared to only 11 for North Park.
          Millikin had four players score in double figures lead by Ypya with 17 points and five assists.  Holly Haskins added 14 points and Rachael Weber and Kelsey Going each had 10 points.  Going and Emma Hoyer had a team high seven rebounds.  Hoyer scored eight points.
          Przybyslawski led North Park with 15 points followed by Amani Davis with 13 points.  Soly Roman had a game high 11 rebounds.
          Millikin is now 13-9, 4-7 and will host first place Wheaton College on Wednesday, Feb. 11 at 7 p.m.  North Park improves to 13-9, 5-6.
