Big Blue Baseball Sweeps Stars

          The Millikin baseball team swept the Dominican University Stars in a doubleheader on March 21 at Sunnyside Park in Decatur, Illinois.  The Big Blue have now won four straight games and are 7-4 on the season.  Dominican goes to 2-7.
          Millikin won game one 15-4 behind the stellar pitching of senior Adam Carlisle.
Carlisle pitched six innings scattering eight hits and allowing only one unearned run while striking out three.
          Millikin broke the game open with a seven run third inning and scored six in the fourth inning.  Millikin hit four homeruns in the game with Brian Ekiss, Frank Barnes, Erik Schurtz and Lucas Stefan all going deep for the Big Blue.  Schurtz led the way going 3-3 with two RBIs.  Ekiss was 2-3 with three runs driven in.  Barnes also had two RBIS and went 2-3 at the plate.  Kaleb Krigbaum, Cody Blunk and Clayton Welker each had two hits.
          Dominican was led by Joe Kukla who was 2-2 with a homerun and three RBIs.
          Millikin won game two 10-6.  Millikin jumped out a 3-0 advantage after one inning, but the Stars tied the game with three in the top of the third.  Millikin answered back with three in the bottom of the inning to make it a 6-3 game.  Millikin sealed the game with two runs in each the seventh and eighth innings.
          Krigbaum was 3-4 with two RBIs and two runs scored in game two.  Joey DiLeo was 3-5 and Schurtz continued his hot hitting collecting three hits.  Barnes and Hunter Wenstrom each had two hits for Millikin.  Cody Blunk had two RBIs.
          Phillip Ganley got the win for Millikin pitching six inning allowing four earned runs on five hits while striking out six.
          Quinlan Milne Rojeck led the Stars going 2-4.
          Millikin will play at Wabash College in Crawfordsville, Indiana on Sunday, March 22 at 12 p.m. ET.
