Big Blue Baseball Drops Road Doubleheader

    The Millikin baseball team lost a CCIW road doubleheader at Elmhurst College on April 26 in Elmhurst, Illinois.  The Bluejays won game one 7-1 and took game two 12-7.
    Elmhurst took game one behind the pitching of Justin Theisen who limited Millikin to four hits and one run while striking out eight over seven innings.  Zach Tsiodras led Elmhurst at the plate going 3-5 with two RBIs.  Ben Havel was 2-4 with two RBIs.
    Lucas Stefan had the Millikin run batted in.
    In game two Elmhurst jumped out to a lead with a five run third inning.
Millikin battled back scoring six runs in the top of the fourth inning.   Elmhurst answered back with two if the fourth and two in the fifth to take control of the game.
    Millikin had seven hits in the game with no Big Blue player getting more than one hit.  Hunter Wenstrom had two RBIs for Millikin.  Seth Coffey, Eric Schurtz and Brian Ekiss each had a hit and an run batted in.
    Tsiodras was 4-5 with four RBIs to lead Elmhurst.  A.J. Compton was 3-4 with three RBIs.
    Millikin is now 14-19, 5-12 while Elmhurst improves to 12-22, 5-12.
    The two teams will finish the series on Monday, April 27 at 7 p.m. in Elmhurst.
