Millikin Softball Splits at Elmhurst

    The Millikin softball team split a doubleheader at Elmhurst College on April 26, in Elmhurst, Illinois.  The Bluejays won game one 13-0 with Millikin taking game two 3-2.
    In game two, Millikin took a 1-0 advantage in the second inning when Amber Morgan doubled home a run.  After Elmhurst took a 2-1 lead after three innings, the Big Blue scored the game winner in the sixth on a two run homerun by Alexis Dockins.
    Dockins finished the game 2-3 at the plate.  Alyssa Voegele also had two hits for Millikin.  Freshman Cathy Lebryk was the winning pitcher throwing seven innings holding Elmhurst to five hits and two unearned runs.
    Crystal Marinelli led Elmhurst with two hits.
    Game one was all Elmhurst behind the pitching of Stephanie Sturino who allowed Millikin one hit over five innings.
    Ele Walter was 3-3 with two RBIs for Elmhurst.  Alyssa Janinski was 2-2 with three RBIs.
    Dockins had Millikin's lone hit.
    Millikin is now 14-22, 3-9 while Elmhurst goes to 19-15, 4-8.
    Millikin will play at Carthage College on April 27 starting at 1 p.m.
