Kalamazoo answered back on its next possession drove 10 plays for 64 yards capped by a five yard touchdown pass from White to K.J. Schultz to make it 7-3 Hornets.
Kalamazoo used a 20 yard Viet Nguyen field goal to take a 10-3 lead early in the second quarter.
The Millikin special teams would then make a big play to tie the game at 10-10 with 8:55 left in the first half. Goveia blocked a punt by Kalamazoo's George Fishback and   ran 29 yards for the touchdown.

The Hornets answered back moving the ball into Millikin territory and getting a 32 yard field goal from Nguyen with two seconds left in the first half to tie the game at 13-13.
The defenses dominated the second half with the only score of the half coming on the second play of the fourth quarter when Nguyen connected on his third field goal this time from 34 yards out.
Millikin got in position to tie the game in the final minute, but Volpert's 48 yard field goal attempt came up short.
