Millikin Volleyball Scores Two Big Wins

         The Millikin volleyball team scored two key wins including the upset of a Top 25 team at the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater Invitational Tournament on September 26 in Whitewater, Wisconsin.
         In its first match of the day, the Big Blue defeated Wisconsin Stout 3-2.
Wisconsin-Stout won the first two sets 25-21 and 25-18.  The Big Blue rallied and won the final three sets 25-9, 25-19, 15-10.  The Big Blue got 18 kills and four services aces from Erin Syversen.  Kelsey Talkington has 17 kills and three blocks.  Cassidy Kingery had a team high 24 digs and five service aces.  Emily Mihalkanin had 44 set assists.
         In the second match, Millikin knocked of #25 Williams 3-2 (25-13, 25-19, 21-25, 24-26, 15-13).  Syversen had another huge match for Millikin with 28 kills three aces and 10 digs.  The 28 kills ties Millikin's fourth highest kills per match in school history.  Emily Seegmiller had 10 kills.  Kingery had 24 digs and Mihalkanin had 47 set assists.
         Syversen was named to the Wisconsin-Whitewater Invitational All-Tournament Team.
Millikin is now 11-5 on the season.
         Millikin opens CCIW play on Tuesday, September 29 hosting Carthage College at 7 p.m.
