Big Blue Women’s Basketball Falls at Illinois Wesleyan

          The Millikin women's basketball team lost at Illinois Wesleyan 77-54 on January 13 at the Shirk Center in Bloomington, Illinois.
          Millikin couldn't overcome a slow start to the game that saw the Titans build a 23-5 lead after the first quarter.  Millikin stayed even with Illinois Wesleyan in quarter number two, but the Titans lead 38-20 at the half.
          Illinois Wesleyan hit on 46 percent from the field while Millikin only made 32 percent from the field including 21 percent in the first half.  Illinois Wesleyan won the rebounding battle 39-35.  Millikin committed 31 turnovers compared to only 18 for the Titans.
          Millikin's top scorer was Alyssa Saklak with 18 points and nine rebounds.  Alex Capeles and Emily Schultz each had 10 points. 
          Illinois Wesleyan's top scorer was Molly McGraw with 27 points.  Maddie Merritt added 15 points and a team high six rebounds.
          Millikin falls to 7-8, 0-4 while the Titans improve to 8-7, 3-1.
          The Big Blue will be back at home on Saturday, January 16 hosting North Park University at 5 p.m.
