Millikin Women’s Basketball Suffers Road Loss

         The Millikin women's basketball team lost at Augustana College 65-59 on January 23 in Rock Island, Illinois.
         Millikin took the lead with the opening basket, but that would be the last time the Big Blue would be in front.  Augustana had a 37-26 advantage at the half and held off a late charge from Millikin.
         The Vikings shot 40 percent from the field while Millikin was held to 33 percent.
Augustana won the rebounding battle 49-35.
         Sophomore Emily Schultz led the Big Blue in scoring for the second straight game scoring a career high 20 points.  Senior Alyssa Saklak had 16 points.  Rachael Weber had six points along with six assists.  Emma Hoyer had a team high seven rebounds.
         The Vikings top scorer was Marrissa Pezzopane with 14 followed by Olivia Mayer with 11.  Kaycee Kallenberger had seven points and a game high 12 rebounds.
         Millikin is now 7-11, 0-7 while Augustana goes to 8-10, 3-4.
         The Big Blue travel to North Central College on January 27 at 7 p.m.
