Millikin Volleyball Splits In Colorado

         The #23 ranked Millikin volleyball team split a pair of games played at the Pikes Peak Challenge hosted by Colorado College in Colorado Springs, Colorado on October 14.
         Millikin started the tournament in a battle of ranked teams as the Big Blue lost to #12 Eastern University 3-1 (25-18, 18-25, 25-23, 25-23).  Junior Erin Syversen led the way for Millikin with 18 kills, nine digs and three service aces.  Cortney Bohn had eight kills and four blocks.  Emily Mihalkanin had 36 set assists and three aces.  Freshman Tory Speckin had a team high 16 digs.  Cassidy Kingery had four service aces and 14 digs.
         Eastern University was led by Alicia Weigel with 18 kills.  The victory moved Eastern to 19-2 on the season.
         Millikin rebounded to win it second match against Concordia (Minn.) 3-0 (25-15, 25-19, 25-21).  Emily Seegmiller led Millikin with 12 kills followed by Syversen with 11.
Senior Kelsey Talkington had nine kills with a .500 attacking percentage.  Mihalkanin had 35 set assists, 10 digs and three service aces.  Kingery had a team high 21 digs.
         Concordia was lead by Emily Friedrich with eight kills.
         Millikin improves to 18-5 on the season.  The Big Blue will be back in action on Saturday including a match against eighth ranked Colorado College.
