Big Blue Volleyball Drops Two in Colorado

         The 23rd ranked Millikin volleyball dropped two matches in the high altitude of Colorado Springs at the Pikes Peak Challenge hosted by Colorado College on October 15.
         Millikin lost its opening match to Luther College 3-0 (25-21, 25-21, 25-12).  Erin Syversen led the Big Blue with 18 kills.  Cassidy Kingery had a team high 13 digs and two service aces. Emily Mihalkanin had 24 assists and six digs.
         Emma Veum led Luther with 12 kills.   
         Millikin lost a five set battle to the host and eighth ranked Colorado College.  Colorado College won the first two set 25-12 and 25-17.  The Big Blue then battled back taking the next two sets 25-20 and 25-22.  Colorado College then took the fifth set 15-6.  Syversen had 21 kills and 11 digs.  Emily Seegmiller had 10 kills and two blocks.  Mihalkanin has 39 assists and 11 digs.  Kingery had a team high 21 digs.
         Colorado College got 11 kills from Reagan Folaron and Marquerite Spaethlin.
         Syversen was named to the All-Tournament Team.
         Millikin is now 18-7 while Colorado College improves to 20-3.
