Millikin Women’s Basketball Rolls to Fourth Win

         The Millikin women's basketball team improved to 4-1 on the season with an 88-53 win at MacMurray College in Jacksonville, Illinois on November 28. 
         Millikin built and 25-18 advantage after one quarter and went to the locker room at halftime leading 52-34.  The Big Blue shot 43 percent from the field including hitting on 10-28 (36 percent) from three point range.  Millikin held MacMurray to 36 percent from the field and forced the Highlanders into 18 turnovers.  Millikin only committed six turnovers and won the rebounding battle 36-30.
         Millikin had four players in double figures in scoring.  Yanni Saddler was Millikin's top scorer and rebounder with a career high 26 points and seven rebounds.  Saddler had four assists.  Emily Schultz had 15 points, five rebounds, two assists and two steals.  Haley Toohill had 14 points and three steals.  Rachael Weber had 11 points, five assists and two steals.
         Danielle Popis led MacMurray with 15 points.
         The MacMurray and Millikin teams welcomed a group of Special Olympic Basketball players to the court prior to the game (see photo below).
         Millikin will open play in the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin (CCIW) on December 3 when they travel to Carthage College.
