Millikin Women Fall to North Central

          The Millikin women's basketball team dropped a conference home game to North Central College 103-68 on December 10 at the Griswold Center in Decatur, Illinois.  Millikin falls to 5-3, 1-2 while North Central improves to 4-3, 1-2.
          Millikin was able to stay with the fast pace pressing style of play used by the Cardinals for the first half of the game.  Millikin was up 15-14 after one quarter and trailed 36-34 at the half.  The Cardinals turned up the defensive pressure and hit on 11-16 from the field in the third quarter to outscore Millikin by 23 points. 
          The Cardinals hits on 44 percent from the field including 16-35 (46 percent) from three point range.  Millikin hit on 35 percent from the field, but struggled in the critical third quarter hitting only 5-22.  Millikin was 3-29 (10 percent) from three point range.  Millikin won the rebounding battle 56-42.  North Central forced Millikin into 33 turnovers while committing only 17.
          Emily Schultz led Millikin with 20 point and eight rebounds.  Yanni Saddler had 15 points and five rebounds.  Lauren Moses had a game high 13 rebounds and scored eight points.
          Jamie Cuny led North Central with 19 points going 5-6 from three point range.  Mayson Whipple added 12 points and five assists.
          Millikin will play at Washington University-St. Louis on December 17.
