Millikin Women’s Basketball Scores Victory

          The Millikin women's basketball team picked up a much needed 70-57 win over Augustana College on February 13, 2016.
          Millikin lead 17-16 at the end of the first quarter and then built a 36-31 advantage at the half.  The Big Blue lead the entire second half extending the lead to 15 points on two different occasions.  Millikin shot 42 percent from the field while holding the Vikings to 38 percent.  Millikin was 20-26 from the free throw line while the Vikings hit on 14-19.  Millikin forced Augustana into 22 turnovers while committing only 11.  The Vikings won the rebounding battle 40-29.
          Millikin's top scorer was senior Alyssa Saklak with 29 points, a team high six rebounds along with three assists, three steals and two blocks.  Emily Schultz had eight points and five rebounds.  Devin Curry also scored eight.
          Olivia Mayer led the Vikings with 14 points.  Marissa Pezzopane added 12.  Kaycee Kallenberger had a game high 11 rebounds.
          Millikin is now 8-16, 1-12 while the Vikings go to 10-14, 5-8.
          Millikin will close out the season on Saturday, Feb. 20 when they host Carthage College at 5 p.m. on Senior Night.
