Big Blue Men’s Soccer Improves to 4-0

          The Millikin men's soccer team improved to 4-0 on the season defeating Concordia-Chicago 5-0 on September 14 at Frank M. Lindsay Field in Decatur, Illinois.
The Big Blue maintained its five goals per game average, which has Millikin ranked second in NCAA Division III in scoring offense.
          Millikin dominated the offensive end of the field out shooting the Cougars 29-8.  Concordia's goalkeeper Roberto Aragon played a stellar first half keeping the Big Blue off the board despite facing numerous Millikin shots.  He finished the night with 11 saves.
          Millikin got the scoring going in the 62nd minute when junior Ben Spelman scored with the assist going to Hunter Somers.  Millikin would score again seven minutes later when a long pass from Fred Bartuch set up Patrick Dolan for a goal.  Big Blue senior Tucker Mathieson scored his fourth goal of the season in the 74th minute on assist from Oliver Czopek.  Three minutes later Millikin would go up 4-0 on a goal from freshman Trey Knighton.  Takunda Jakachira scored Millikin's final goal at the 83:38 mark.
          Millikin is ranked ninth in the Central Region in today's NSCCA Poll.  The Big Blue will be back in action on Saturday at 7 p.m. hosting Rose-Hulman.  The Millikin women face the Engineers at 5 p.m.
