Millikin Volleyball Defeats DePauw, Loses to #6 Hope

          The 24th ranked Millikin volleyball team went 1-1 on the final day of the DePauw University Tigers Invitational played on Sept. 17 in Greencastle, Indiana.  Millikin went 3-1 in the tournament and is now 9-3 on the year.
          Millikin opened the day with a 3-0 (25-21, 25-18, 25-10) loss to sixth ranked Hope College.  Millikin was led by Alora Goodey with eight kills.  Emily Milhalkanin had 19 set assists.  Cassidy Kingery had 10 digs.  The win improved Hope to 10-1 on the year.
          Millikin bounced back to defeat DePauw 3-0 25-23, 25-19, 25-15).  The Tigers entered the match with a 10-2 record and were flying high after upsetting Hope on Friday night.  Erin Syversen led the way for Millikin with 16 kills and 16 digs.  Goodey had 10 kills.  Kingery had 16 digs and an ace.  Mihalkanin had 15 assist and 10 digs.
Rose Syversen had a team high 20 assists. 
          Kingery and Goodey earned spots on the All-Tournament Team.
          Millikin will open play in the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin (CCIW) on Tuesday, Sept. 20 when they host North Park University at 7 p.m.
