Big Blue Women’s Basketball Loses at Elmhurst

          The Millikin women's basketball team lost at Elmhurst College 87-57 on January 11 in Elmhurst, Illinois.
          The game started well for Millikin with the Big Blue leading 16-14 at the end of the first quarter.  The Bluejays took charge of the contest in the second quarter out scoring Millikin by 15 and building a 39-26 halftime advantage.  Elmhurst shot 54 percent from the field and hit on 11-15 (73 percent) from beyond the three-point line.  Millikin struggled from the field hitting only 37 percent including going 4-14 (29 percent) from three-point range.  Elmhurst out rebounded Millikin 35-31. 
          Emily Schultz led Millikin with 13 points followed by Devin Curry with 12 points and five rebounds.  Yanni Sadder added 10 points for the Big Blue.  Lauren Moses had a team high six rebounds and seven points.
          Mikaela Eppard led the Bluejays with 17 points and 10 rebounds.  Kalia Summerlin added 15 points.
          Elmhurst improves to 11-3, 3-2 while Millikin falls to 7-8, 1-5.
          Millikin will play its fourth road game in a week on Saturday, January 14 when they travel to Wheaton College.
