Millikin Men Grind Out Win Over Elmhurst

          The Millikin men's basketball team grinded out a 66-41 win on Elmhurst College on January 11 at the Griswold Center in Decatur, Illinois.
          The game was a typical physical College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin (CCIW) battle.  Millikin opened the game strong jumping out to a 10-0 lead after connecting on six of its first seven shots.  Millikin lead the entire game taking a 36-19 advantage into the locker room at halftime.  Millikin shot 46 percent from the field while holding Elmhurst to 32 percent.  Millikin held the Bluejays to just 14 made baskets in the game.  Millikin was 6-16 from three-point range while the Bluejays hit 3-13.  Elmhurst won the rebounding battle 33-22.  Elmhurst committed 19 turnovers compared to Millikin's 14.
          Freshman Jordan Cunningham led Millikin with 13 points and eight rebounds.  Freshman Zach Fisher added 12 points and two assists.  Tyler Pygon had nine points and three steals for Millikin while Jack Simpson added nine points and five rebounds.
          Ryan Patton and Michael Plunk led Elmhurst with seven points each.
          It was Millikin's first CCIW win on the season as the Big Blue improve to 3-11, 1-4.  Elmhurst falls to 5-9, 1-4.
          Millikin will travel to Wheaton College on January 14.
