Millikin Women Knock Off First Place Augustana

          The Millikin women's basketball team defeated first place Augustana College 91-76 on January 21 at the Griswold Center in Decatur, Illinois.
          Millikin started strong hitting on 53 percent from the field in the first quarter while the Vikings hit only 25 percent from the field.  The Big Blue lead 22-12 at the end of the first quarter.  Millikin had a 45-34 advantage at halftime.  Millikin widened its lead in the third quarter outscoring Augustana by 14 points and building a 73-48 lead after three periods.
          Millikin hit on 48 percent from the field in the game and hit 8-17 (47 percent) from three-point range.  Augustana made 38 percent of its shots including going 10-31 (32 percent) from three-point range.  Augustana won the rebounding battle 42-41.
          Millikin had four players score in double figures lead by Emily Schultz with 23 points, 10 rebounds, three assists and three steals.  Devin Curry had 22 points and six rebounds.  Haley Toohill had 17 points and Yanni Saddler added 13 points and six rebounds.
          Augustana's top scorer was Mikayla Fallon with 16 points and seven rebounds.  Corrie Reiley added 15 points with Izzy Anderson scoring 14.
          Millikin is now 8-9, 2-6 while Augustana goes to 13-4, 6-2.
          The Big Blue will host North Park University on January 25 at 7 p.m.
