Women's Tennis Downs Illinois Wesleyan

Despite a delayed start due to the weather, the women's tennis team pulled off a win over 5-1 Illinois Wesleyan on October 11 at the Fairview Tennis Center in Decatur, Illinois.

Madeline Delano and Morgan Bettner were the first to get a win at three doubles, winning their match 8-0. Maggie and Kelly Ruane followed closely behind with an 8-0 win at two doubles. Seniors Molly Angell and Missy Donovan kept the Big Blue perfect in doubles, winning their match at one doubles. The match remained close until Angell and Donovan were able to get the break and go up 7-5 before pulling out the win 8-5.

In singles play, Junior Madeline Delano wasted no time at all and won her match at six singles 6-1, 6-0 to give the Big Blue their fourth point of the day. Senior Kelly Ruane, clinched the match for Millikin with a win at number five singles. After fighting off a short-lived comeback in the second set, Ruane was able to close out her opponent 6-3, 6-3.

Two through four singles were unfinished due to darkness.

The Big Blue will be back in action this weekend as they take on North Park on October 14 and North Central on October 15.
