Tennis Sweeps North Park

After a rain delay pushed the match indoors, the women's tennis team defeated North Park University 9-0.

In doubles play, Morgan Bettner and Maddy Delano won at three doubles 8-1. Maggie Ruane and Kelly Ruane were next to finish with an 8-2 win at two doubles. Molly Angell and Melissa Donovan rounded out the doubles sweep with an 8-6 win at number one doubles.

The Big Blue continued their impressive play into singles. Maddy Delano was the first of the six singles victories with a 6-2, 6-2 win at number six singles. Within minutes of Delano's win, Maggie Ruane closed out her win at three singles 6-0, 6-2.

At five singles, Kelly Ruane was again victorious with a 6-2, 7-5 win. Melissa Donovan followed with an impressive 6-2, 6-2 win at four singles.

Sophomore Morgan Bettner had a exciting win at one singles as well. After winning the first set 6-1, Bettner battled in the second set. After being up 5-2, Bettner shut down a short comeback from her opponent before winning the second set in a tiebreaker, 7-6 (7-1).

Last on the court tonight for the Big Blue was Senior Molly Angell. Angell closed out her win at two singles 6-4, 6-4 to keep the Big Blue perfect for the day.

The Big Blue will be back in action tomorrow, October 15th, at 11am as they take on North Central in the last match of the regular season.
