#10 Millikin Volleyball Wins Twice

The Millikin volleyball team scored two victories at the 2017 Baden Invitational hosted by Washington University-St. Louis on October 28.

In its first match, Millikin defeated Hendrix College 3-0 (25-19, 25-17, 25-20). Erin Syversen 12 kills, eight digs and three service aces. Emily Seegmiller 12 kills and one ace. Alora Goodey added 10 kills. Emily Mihalkanin 32 assists, 12 digs and three aces. Meredith Artime led the Big Blue defense with 19 digs.

In the second match, Millikin knocked off perennial powerhouse #12 Washington University-St. Louis 3-1. The Big Blue won the first set 25-14 before the Bears rallied to take the second set 28-26. Millikin then countered with two straight set wins 25-17 and 25-21. Millikin had a balanced attack led by Syversen with 20 kills and 12 digs. Goodey added 14 kills, Seegmiller had 13 and Marissa McElroy added 10. Mihalkanin had 51 assists and 11 digs. Artime had 24 digs and two service aces.

Ifeoma Ufondo had 15 kills for the Bears.

Syversen and Mihalkanin were selected to the All-Tournament Team.

Millikin improves to 26-6 overall while Washington University-St. Louis goes to 20-8.
