Big Blue Volleyball Split Matches

          The 15th ranked Millikin volleyball team split a pair of matches at the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire Tournament on October 7 in Eau Claire, Wisconsin.
          In its opening match, Millikin defeated Wisconsin-Eau Claire 3-2.  The Big Blue dropped the first set 25-18, but rallied to take the second set 25-23.  Eau Claire answered by winning the third set 25-19 before Millikin closed out the match with winning 25-18 and 15-11.
          Erin Syversen had 23 kills and nine digs for Millikin.  Alora Goodey had 20 kills and three blocks.  Meredith Artime had 24 digs and Emily Mihalkanin had 49 set assists and nine digs.
          The Big Blue lost to seventh ranked Northwestern-St. Paul 3-0 (25-22, 28-26, 25-22).  Goodey and Syversen each had 11 kills for the Big Blue.  Milhalkanin had 31 set assists, three service aces and eight digs.  Artime had a team high 20 digs.
           Goodey and Syversen were named to All-Tournament Team.
          Millikin is now 16-5 on the season.
          The Big Blue play at 12th ranked Illinois Wesleyan on October 10 at 7 p.m. in a battle for the top spot in the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin.
