Millikin Women’s Basketball Opens Season with Victory

         The Millikin women's basketball team opened the 2017-18 season with an 83-67 win at Greenville University in Greenville, Illinois on November 17.
         Millikin outscored the Panthers in three of the four quarters with the Big Blue leading 41-33 at halftime.  The Big Blue shot 51 percent from the field including 33 percent from three-point range.  Greenville made 46 percent from the field including 50 percent from three-point range.  The Big Blue made 11 more shots than the Panthers.  Millikin forced Greenville into 17 turnovers while committing 11.  The Panthers won the rebounding battle 34-29.
         Millikin had five players in score in double figures.  Seniors Devin Curry and Emily Schultz led the Big Blue with 18 points each.  Freshman Jordan Hildebrand scored 13 points.  Juniors Yanni Saddler had 12 points  and Cassie Somers added 11 points.
         Laura Goodnight led the Panthers will 11 points.
         Millikin will face Westminster College on Saturday in the Greenville Invitational.
