Millikin Cruises Past Lawrence

         The Millikin women's basketball team cruised to a 70-38 win over Lawrence University at the Cruzin Classic in Fort Lauderdale, Fla. on December 16.
         Millikin lead 18-14 after the first quarter and built a 37-26 lead at the half.
The Big Blue broke the game open in the third quarter with a 21-7 run.  Millikin shot 50 percent from the field including hitting on 9-22 (41 percent) from three- point range.  The Big Blue held Lawrence to 25 percent from the field and won the rebounding battle 42-29.
         Millikin's top scorer was Devin Curry with 14 points.  Cassie Somers and Haley Toohill each added 11 points.  Emily Schultz scored 10 points.  Sierra Birdsell had a team high seven rebounds.
         Kenya Earl led Lawrence with 12 points and nine rebounds.
         Millikin improves to 4-5 while Lawrence falls to 2-8.  The Big Blue face Eastern Connecticut University on Sunday, December 17.
