Millikin Men’s Basketball Loses to Titans

          The Millikin men's basketball team lost a home conference contest to Illinois Wesleyan University 65-53 on February 1 at the Griswold Center in Decatur, Illinois.
          The first half was a tight contest with each team holding a lead.  Millikin freshman Korbin Farmer hit a jumper as time was expiring to put Millikin up 24-22 at halftime.  Missed Millikin opportunities and improved shooting by Illinois Wesleyan was the story of the second half as the Titans pulled ahead.  Millikin committed eight of its 16 turnovers in the second half costing them scoring opportunities.  After a cold shooting first half (31 percent), the Titans hit 50 percent from the field in the second half including going 5-10 from three-point range.  Illinois Wesleyan ended the game shooting 40 percent and were 15-26 from the free throw line.  Millikin shot 40 percent from the field and hit on 6-14 from beyond the arc.  Millikin was 5-9 from the free throw line.  The Big Blue turned around its recent rebounding woes out rebounding the Titans 36-32.
          Zach Fisher led Millikin with 18 points.  Jordan Cunningham had 14 points and 10 rebounds.
          Brady Rose led Illinois Wesleyan with 15 points followed by Nick Coleman with 14.  Coleman was 3-3 from three point range in the second half.
          Illinois Wesleyan improves to 13-6, 5-5 while Millikin falls to 3-17, 1-10.
