Millikin Baseball Wins Completion of Suspended Game

         The Millikin baseball team picked up its first win of the 2017 season 4-3 in 10 innings at the University of the Ozarks in Clarksville, Arkansas on February 19. The game's final two innings were played on Sunday after the contest began on Saturday and was suspended due to darkness tied at 3-3. 
         Millikin opened the scoring in the first inning on a two run homerun by Julian Gutierrez driving home Mason Bruce who had opened the game with a walk.  Millikin scored its third run in the fourth inning.  Hunter Wenstrom doubled and went to third on a single by Garrett Brachbill.  Wenstrom scored on a sacrifice fly from Bruce. 
         Jake Drada opened the Millikin 10th inning with a double and scored on an RBI single from Devin Crews.
         Gutierrez and Wenstrom each had two hits for Millikin.
         Anthony Rendina was the winning pitcher in relief.  He pitched the final two innings allowing one hit and striking out one.  Gage Eller threw one and one third innings of scoreless relief and freshman Jacob Hennessy didn't allow a hit in his two and two-third innings of shutout relief.
         Alex Smith had two hits and a RBI to lead the University of the Ozarks.
