Big Blue Baseball Wins Fourth Straight

         The Millikin baseball team scored its fourth straight win defeating Hardin-Simmons 16-11 on March 14 in Abilene, Texas.  Millikin is now 7-3 on the season.  Hardin-Simmons goes to 7-10.
         Hardin-Simmons jumped out to an early lead and were up 7-2 after three innings.  The Big Blue stormed back with six runs in both the third and fourth innings to pull ahead.
Junior Julian Gutierrez led the Millikin attack going 3-6 with two doubles and six RBIs.  Mason Bruce, Seth Coffey, Jake Drada and Keith Askins each had two hits for Millikin.  Bruce had a homerun.  Luke McConnell was 1-2 with three walks.
         Gage Eller earned the win in relief for Millikin.  The Big Blue got solid work out of the bullpen.  Phillip Ganley struck out four allowing no hits in two innings of work.  Zak Owens pitched one and one third innings allowing one hit.  Ben Peters retired the last two batters.
         Taylor Cooling, Jake Todd and Garrett Buckner each had three hits for Hardin-Simmons.
         Millikin will play a doubleheader at Hardin-Simmons on Wednesday, March 15 starting at 12 p.m.
