Millikin Softball Splits Road Doubleheader

         Playing for the third straight day, the Millikin softball team split a pair of games at Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology in Terre Haute, Indiana on March 28.  The Engineers won the first game 9-0 while Millikin battled back to win game two 10-5.
         Rose-Hulman used the long ball to win game one.  Jenny Miller was 2-4 a homerun and two RBIs and Michelle Korf hit two homeruns going 2-3 with five RBIs.  Korf was the winning pitcher throwing six innings and allowing the Big Blue only two hits.
         Millikin scored late in game two to pull out the 10-5 victory.  Millikin scored two runs in the fourth, fifth and six innings.  The Big Blue led 6-5 after six innings when Millikin broke out for four runs in the seventh inning to blow open the game.
         Kailey Lyons led the Millikin offense going 4-5 with three RBIs.  Lyons had a bases clearing triple in the seventh inning.  Marissa Padilla was 3-5 and Alyssa White went 2-4 with two RBIs.
         Jessica Will led Rose-Hulman going 2-4 with two runs scored and two RBIs.
         Millikin improves to 14-8 while Rose-Hulman goes to 8-6.
         Millikin will open College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin (CCIW) action on April 1 at Wheaton College.
