Big Blue Softball Ready to Battle for CCIW Crown

The Millikin women's softball team heads to Wisconsin this weekend with the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin (CCIW) Championship on the line.
          Millikin plays at Carroll University on April 22 and at Carthage College on April 23.
The Big Blue and Carthage are currently tied for first place in the conference with 11-1 CCIW records. Before Sunday's showdown, Millikin must take care of business at third place Carroll while Carthage will be facing Illinois Wesleyan currently in fourth in the CCIW standings.
          With four games remaining and only one conference loss on the season, the Big Blue have essentially locked up a spot in the CCIW Tournament to be held on May 5-6.
This weekend's contests will decide the regular season champion and the team that will host the conference tournament. The CCIW's automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament goes to the winner of the conference's post season tournament.
