Millikin Softball to Host CCIW Tournament

              DECATUR, Illinois—The Millikin University Softball team won the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin (CCIW) Regular Season Championship and earned the right to host the CCIW Tournament on May 5-6.  The conference's automatic bid to the NCAA Division III Softball Tournament goes to the winner of the CCIW Tournament.  Millikin is 30-10 overall and 14-2 in the CCIW.
          Millikin will host the four team double elimination tournament at the Workman Family Softball Field where the Big Blue went 14-0 in the first season in its new home.
          Millikin is the number one seed in the tournament and will play its first game on Friday, May 5 at 2 p.m. against the fourth seed North Central College.  The tournament will open on Friday at 12 p.m. with the Illinois Wesleyan University facing Carthage College. 
          Admission to the tournament is $6 for adults, $3 for senior citizens and students from non-conference member schools.  Children under five and students from CCIW schools are admitted for free with a valid school ID.
          Millikin will provide Live Stats and Live Video of all tournament games on the Millikin Athletics web site at http://athletics.millikin.edu/.
          Millikin and its media partner Neuhoff Media will provide additional live coverage of the games involving the Big Blue.  Millikin's first game at 2 p.m. on Friday will air online at http://www.nowdecatur.com/.  Click on the ESPNDecatur Live Stream link.  If the Big Blue play on Friday at 6 p.m. and/or if they qualify to the Championship game on Saturday at 12 p.m., those games will be carried live on ESPNDecatur 1050AM (WDZ) and on  http://www.nowdecatur.com/.
