Ninth Ranked Millikin Volleyball Wins Twice

         The ninth ranked Millikin University volleyball team scored two victories in action at the Wittenberg Fall Classic in Springfield, Ohio on September 16.  The Big Blue improved to 8-1 on the season.
         In its first match, Millikin scored a 3-2 win over Clarkson.  Millikin won the first set 25-22 before dropping the second and third sets 26-24.  The Big Blue regrouped and won the fourth set 25-17 and finished off the match with a 15-8 win in the fifth set.
         Alora Goodey led Millikin with 24 kills and five blocks.  Erin Syversen had 16 kills, 17 digs and two service aces.  Emily Seegmiller had nine kills and 10 digs.  Emily Mihalkanin had a team high 50 assists and 15 digs.  Meredith Artime led the Big Blue with 28 digs.
         Millikin downed Heidelberg 3-0 in its second match winning 26-24, 25-16 and 25-20.
         Goodey had 19 kills to lead the way for the Big Blue.  Syversen had eight kills and 11 digs.  Marie Gerbasi added eight kills.  Mihalkanin had 28 assists and 16 digs.  Artime had 20 digs.
         Millikin will open College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin (CCIW) play on September 20 at North Park University in Chicago.
