Millikin Volleyball Falls Twice

Box Score 1 | Box Score 2           The eighth ranked Millikin volleyball team lost twice at the Barker Chevrolet Classic at Illinois Wesleyan University in Bloomington, Illinois on September 23.
          Lingering just outside the top 25 Rose-Hulman and University of Chicago took aim at shooting down the Big Blue.
          Millikin lost the first game to Rose-Hulman 3-2. Millikin won the first set 25-21. Rose Hulman took the second set 25-23 before Millikin rallied to win the third set 25-20. The Engineers then sealed the win taking the fourth set 25-20 and the fifth set 15-10.
          Erin Syversen led Millikin with 22 kills, 14 digs and five service aces. Alora Goodey added 18 kills and Marissa McElroy had 13. Emily Mihalkanin had 32 assists and Meredith Artime had 38 digs.
          In the second match of the day, Millikin lost to the University of Chicago 3-1 (13-25, 25-21, 25-14, 25-21). Syversen again led the way for the Big Blue with 19 kills and 10 digs. Goodey added 15 kills. Mihalkanin had 48 assists and 16 digs. Artime had 26 digs.
          Goodey earned a spot on the All-Tournament Team.
          Millikin is now 11-3 on the season.
