Women’s Basketball Falls at Home

          The Millikin women's basketball team lost to College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin (CCIW) leader #18 Illinois Wesleyan 79-62 on January 17 at the Griswold Center in Decatur, Illinois.
          Illinois Wesleyan lead at halftime 38-24, but the Big Blue played much better in the second half.  The Big Blue stayed with the Titans in the third quarter being outscored 21-18.  The final quarter was even with each team scoring 20 points.
          Millikin shot 48 percent from the field, but were limited to just 50 shots.  The Big Blue were 1-11 from three-point range.  Illinois Wesleyan shot only 39 percent from the field, but had 69 shots in the game.  The Titans were 7-28 (25 percent) from three-point range.  Millikin won the rebounding battle 39-32.  The Big Blue were limited offensively committing 28 turnovers.  Illinois Wesleyan had 12 turnovers.
          Millikin's top scorer was Devin Curry with a double double of 23 points and 10 rebounds.  Jordan Hildebrand had 16 points and five rebounds.  Emily Schultz had eight points along with 10 rebounds.
          Illinois Wesleyan's top scorer was Molly McGraw with 21 points followed by Raven Hughes and Nina Anderson with 13 points each.
          Millikin falls to 5-11, 0-7 while Illinois Wesleyan improves to 13-3, 7-0.
          Millikin will host Carthage College on Saturday, January 20 at 5 p.m.
