Millikin Football Falls to #15 Illinois Wesleyan

          The Millikin University football team lost to 15th ranked Illinois Wesleyan 49-32 on October 27 at Frank M. Lindsay Field in Decatur, Illinois.
          The Big Blue stayed with the Titans in the first half trailing 21-13 at halftime.  Illinois Wesleyan outscored Millikin 21-7 in the third quarter to pull away for the win.
          Illinois Wesleyan had 456 yards of total offense (305 passing) while Millikin gained 441 in total offense (315 passing). Both teams had 26 first downs and each team committed three turnovers.
          Millikin quarterback Nicco Stepina was 26-46-3 passing for 315 yards with four touchdowns. Gerald Perry led the Millikin receivers with 11 catches for 132 yards and one touchdown. Jordan Smith had seven catches for 97 yards and two touchdowns. Tyrice Hines had Millikin's other touchdown reception. George Jimerson, Jr. was Millikin's top rusher with 89 yards on 19 carries. Richard Cosey gained 40 yards on 11 carries and scored on touchdown.
          Quarterback Brandon Bauer led the Titans attack throwing 22-34 for 305 yards and three scores. Morgan Alexander had 31 carries for 144 yards to led Illinois Wesleyan in rushing.
          Millikin is now 6-2, 5-2 while Illinois Wesleyan improves to 7-1, 7-0. The Titans are alone in first place heading into next week's showdown with second place North Central College.
          Millikin will host Washington University-St. Louis on November 3 at 1 p.m. The two teams are part of a three-way tie for third place in the conference.
