Millikin Swimming Opens Season

          The Millikin men's and women's swimming team opened up its 2018-19 season with a double dual meet with Knox College and Augustana College in Rock Island, Illinois on October 27. The Big Blue men defeated Knox 131-24 and lost to the Vikings 142-58. The Millikin women downed the Prairie Fire 145-50 while losing to Augustana 158-58.
          Millikin's Cameron Lee won the 1000 Yard Freestyle in 11:36.17 and took second in the 500 Free in 5:38.67.
          Millikin freshman Olivia Marquardt won the Women's 100 Yard Butterfly in 1:03.16.
          Big Blue freshman Brigid Duesterhaus posted second place finishes in the 50-Yard Freestyle in 25:56 and the 100 Free in 57.17.
          On the men's side, freshman Felix Archer was second in the 200 Yard Freestyle in 1:55.47 and the 100 Yard Backstroke in 55.92.
          Other second place finishes for Millikin included Hope Roderick in the 1000 Freestyle (12:06.94), Cole Jones in the 50 Freestyle (22.67), Nick Nemeth in the 200 IM (2:13.45) and Alex Kennedy in the Women's 500 Yard Freestyle in 5:49.48.
