Millikin Volleyball Splits on Final Tournament Day

The Millikin University volleyball team split in their final tournament of the regular season at the Baden Invitational Tournament at Washington University in St. Louis. They began their day with a matchup against the host Bears, in which they were defeated in four sets (25-21, 21-25, 22-25, 16-25). 
Peyton Jackson led the attack for the Big Blue with 16 kills, and Emily Seegmiller added 15. Rose Syversen led the team in assists with 35, and Alyssa Vignos tallied 13 digs. Lauren Brummel added two service aces for Millikin. 

In the second match of the day, Millikin dominated Belhaven University in three sets (25-20, 25-19, 25-16). Jackson once again led the way for the Big Blue along with Seegmiller, with 13 kills apiece. Marissa McElroy tallied 12 in the match. Syversen again led the team in assists with 40, and Vignos tallied 15 digs. Maddie Sielski added 14. 
Freshman Peyton Jackson was named to the Baden Invitational All-Tournament Team, one of seven players.  
With the split, Millikin's record improved to 15-17 on the season. They will finish off their 2018 campaign with a home conference matchup against Carroll University on Tuesday, October 30 in search of a conference tournament berth. 


Millikin's Jackson was named to the All-Tournament Team.
