Millikin Women’s Basketball Downs Illinois College

         Playing its first home game of the season, the Millikin women's basketball team scored its first win of the year defeating Illinois College 82-79 on November 25 at the Griswold Center in Decatur, Illinois.
         The victory was the first career coaching victory for first year Millikin Head Coach Olivia Lett.
         The game tight one throughout. The Big Blue lead 14-13 at the end of the first quarter. Illinois College took the lead 29-28 at the half.  Millikin inched ahead 53-52 at the end of three quarters and outscored the Lady Blues by two points in the final period. The game had 23 lead changes and was tied 10 times.
         The final tie of the game was at 74-74 after Millikin's Yanni Saddler made the first of two free throws. The Big Blue made 10 straight free throws in the final 45 seconds.
         Both teams shot 41 percent from the field.  Millikin went 5-15 (33 percent) from three-point range, but hit 3-4 in the third quarter and 2-4 in the fourth quarter. Millikin won the rebounding battle 45-36.
         Yanni Saddler led Millikin with career high 30 points and 10 rebounds. Saddler was 12-13 from the free throw line and hit two of three from three-point range. Freshman Aubrey Staton had 15 points. Aubrey Magro and Jordan Hildebrand each scored 12 And Briana Anthony added 11.
         Brielle Greenleaf led Illinois College with 27 points followed by Grace Yaunches with 17.
         Olivia Lett's first career coaching victory was a little bittersweet as it came at the expense of her sister, Sydney Lett, who scored 13 points and grabbed six rebounds playing for Illinois College.
         After playing its first four games on the road, Millikin returns to the road for four more games starting on November 28 at Washington University-St. Louis.
         Millikin is now 1-4 while Illinois College goes to 3-3.
