Millikin Men Fall to #23 Illinois Wesleyan

          The Millikin men's basketball team lost a defensive battle to CCIW leader #23 Illinois Wesleyan University 65-56 on February 14 at the Griswold Center in Decatur, Illinois.
          The Titans scored the opening basket of the game and never trailed building a 34-24 advantage at halftime.  Millikin stayed close throughout the game cutting the lead to below double digits on several occasions in the second half.  Millikin played strong defensively, but could never put together an offensive run.
          Illinois Wesleyan hit on 42 percent from the field going 6-24 (25 percent) from three-point range.  Millikin hit on 34.5 percent of its shots and was 2-12 (17 percent) from beyond the arc.  The Titans won the rebounding battle 38-35.
          Millikin got a double double from Elijah Henry with 21 points and 11 rebounds.  Michael Beaty added 14 points.
          Illinois Wesleyan's top scorer was Collin Bonnett with 15 points followed by Brady Rose with 14.
          Millikin is now 11-13, 4-11 while Illinois Wesleyan goes to 18-5, 11-3.
          The Big Blue will play its final game of the 2017-18 season on Saturday, Feb. 17 when they travel to Carroll University.
