Big Blue Women’s Basketball Loses at Illinois Wesleyan

          The Millikin women's basketball team lost at CCIW leader #17 Illinois Wesleyan 78-54 at the Shirk Center in Bloomington, Illinois on February 14.
          Illinois Wesleyan led 18-15 after one quarter and went into the locker room at halftime up 33-26.  The Titans extended the lead to 14 after three quarters and then outscored Millikin by 10 points in the final quarter.
          The Titans hit on 48 percent from the field including shooting 61 percent in the fourth quarter.  Millikin shot 43 percent from the field.  Both teams struggled from three-point range with Illinois Wesleyan hitting 3-20 and Millikin making 4-10.  The Titans out rebounded the Big Blue 34-30.  Millikin committed 28 turnovers compared to 15 the Illinois Wesleyan.
          Millikin's top scorer was Yanni Sadder with 12 points, six rebounds and four assists.  Devin Curry added nine.  Lauren Moses and Jordan Hildebrand each had seven rebounds and five points.
          Molly McGraw led the Titans with 18 points followed by Nia Anderson with 16.
          Millikin falls to 7-16, 2-12 while Illinois Wesleyan improved to 20-3, 13-1.
          Prior to the game, Illinois Wesleyan presented Millikin Head Coach Lori Kerans with a Titan Spirit Award.  On Monday, Kerans announced she would be retiring from coaching at the end of the season after leading the Millikin program for 32 seasons.
          Millikin plays at Carroll on February 17 and closes out the season on Feb. 20 at home against North Park at 7 p.m.
