Big Blue Softball Wins One, Loses One in Florida

         The Millikin softball team had an up and down day in Florida winning one game and dropping its second game on March 13 at the Spring Games in Leesburg, Florida.  Millikin won its opener 20-0 over Lancaster Bible and lost game two 3-1 to undefeated St. Mary's (Ind.)
         Millikin scored 14 runs in the first inning and rolled behind a no-hitter from Cathy Lebryk in the opener.  Lebryk threw five innings allowing no hits while striking five.  Millikin had 21 hits in the game and took advantage of 11 errors.
         Chelsea Eads was 3-3 with three runs scored to lead the Millikin offense.  Freshman Cassidy Knoerzer was also 3-3.  Kailey Lyons went 2-2 with two runs scored and two RBI.  Kalli Farmer, Alexis Dockins and Alyssa White each had two hits.  Jordan Hildebrand had a home run and two RBI.
         In game two, Kalli Farmer went 2-3 with a double.  Hildebrand had a run scoring single for the Big Blue.
         Kelsey Richards went 3-4 to lead St. Mary's.  Morgan Raymer threw seven innings allowing four hits and one unearned run while striking out four.
         Millikin is now 6-4.  After a day off, Millikin will play two games on Thursday and two on Friday in Florida.
