Millikin Tennis Sweeps St. Mary’s

The Millikin men's and women's tennis teams were both victorious over St. Mary's (Maryland) in action in Hilton Head, South Carolina on March 15.
         The Big Blue men won 9-0. Jacob Palley won at number one singles 6-3, 7-6 (3) with Colin Sandren winning at number two singes 6-0, 6-1. Jacob Hamilton was victorious 6-2, 6-2 at number three singles and Greg Schwoeppe won 6-0, 6-2 at number four. Millikin rounded out its sweep of the singles matches with wins from Logan Bennett (1-6, 6-1, 10-8) and Nick Laramee 6-0, 6-0.
         Palley and Sandren teamed to win at one doubles 8-1. The duo of Hamilton and Sacks won at number two doubles 8-0 and Schwoeppe and Dane Pierantoni won at the three doubles spot 8-0.
         The Millikin women defeated St. Mary's 5-4. The Big Blue won three singles matches with Maggie Ruane winning at number three singles 6-0, 5-7, 10-2; Melissa Donovan winning at number four singles 6-2, 6-4; and Danielle Beard taking the number five singles match 6-3, 6-4.
         Millikin picked up two wins in doubles with Morgan Bettner and Madeline Delano winning 8-1 and Maggie and Kelly Ruane winning 8-3.
