Millikin Baseball Suffers First Loss

         The Millikin baseball team lost at Southwestern University 10-6 on March 9 in Georgetown, Texas.  Millikin is now 6-1 on the season while the Pirates improve to 4-4.
         The Big Blue started the game strong despite an overnight bus ride to Texas.  Millikin scored two runs in both of the first two innings to build a 4-0 lead. Southwestern then took control of the game with a seven run second inning.  Millikin out hit the Pirates 13-9, but the Big Blue committed three costly errors.
         Devin Crews continued his hot hitting leading off the game with a home run.  Crews finished the night 2-5.  Shortstop Anthony Bryan was 4-5 for the Big Blue.  Jake Drada and Hunter Wenstrom each had a double and an RBI.  Other Millikin runs batted in went to Jon Walters, Mason Bruce and Seth Coffey.
         Seth Sparks led the Southwestern attack going 3-5.  Daniel Montgomery went 2-4 and Austin Smith had three RBI.
         The two teams will meet again on Saturday and Sunday.
