Big Blue Softball Splits at Augustana

         The Millikin softball team split a conference doubleheader at Augustana College on April 11 in Rock Island, Illinois.
         The Big Blue won game one 13-3 in five innings.  Millikin opened with an eight run first inning.  The Vikings committed four errors in the game including two in the first inning.
         Kalli Farmer led the Millikin attack going 3-3 with three runs scored.  Skielyr Trenkle and Chelsea Eads each had two RBI.  Cathy Lebryk was the winning pitcher throwing five innings allowing seven hits and three runs.
         Augustana took game two 3-2. 
         Trailing 3-2 in the sixth, Millikin senior Alyssa Voegele tied the game with a two-run home run. The Vikings answered with the winning run in the seventh.
         Millikin was limited to five hits by Vikings' starting pitcher Cecelia Peine.  Clare Kramer went 2-2 for Augustana.
         Millikin is now 12-10, 1-5 while Augustana goes to 16-8, 3-3.
         The Big Blue host Wheaton College on Friday, April 13 at 3 p.m.
