Big Blue Softball Sweeps Wheaton

          The Millikin softball team remained unbeaten in regular season games at Workman Family Field sweeping a College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin (CCIW) doubleheader from Wheaton College on April 13 in Decatur, Illinois.  Millikin is 20-0 (6-0 this season) at the Workman Family Softball Field since it opened last season.
          Millikin won game one 8-1 and took game two 7-0.
          Millikin scored four runs in the first and three runs in the second in game one. Senior Cathy Lebryk was the winning pitcher throwing seven innings scattering five hits and allowing one earned run while striking out five.
          Leadoff batter Taylor Jordan walked four times for the Big Blue and scored three runs.
Kailey Lyons was 2-3 with a double with two RBI and two runs scored.  Maggie Comerford went 2-3 with an RBI. Alyssa Voegele had two RBI for Millikin with Kalli Farmer and Chelsea Eads each driving home one.
          In game two, Gracie Brookens picked up the winning in the circle throwing seven shutout innings allowing five hits with three strikeouts.  Jordan was 2-3 with a double and four RBI.  Farmer and Eads were each 2-4 with an RBI.
          Millikin improves to 14-10, 3-5 while Wheaton falls to 5-21, 1-7.
          The Big Blue's games at Elmhurst scheduled for April 15 have been postponed due to an unfavorable forecast.  Millikin is scheduled to host Greenville College on April 18.
