Millikin Baseball Falls in Pitchers Duel

         The Millikin baseball team lost to Carroll University 1-0 on April 21 in a game played at Wheaton College in Wheaton, Illinois.
         Four Pioneers pitchers limited the Big Blue to five singles in the game.  Millikin managed to get more than one hit in an inning only once, which came in the seventh with when they had back-to-back singles.  Devin Crews, Luke Azzarelli, Anthony Bryan, Andrew Auton and Seth Coffey each having a base hit.
         Carroll scored the game's only run in the fifth inning.  Dylan Callahan tripled and scored on a Zach Meyer base hit.
         Millikin's lack of offense wasted a great pitching effort from Connor Gross who held the Pioneers to two hits over eight innings while striking out 11.
         Millikin is now 15-14, 5-10 while Carroll improves to 14-14, 3-12.
         The two teams will play a doubleheader in Wheaton on April 22.
